Filipinos now have a smarter, safer way to manage payments, loyalty cards, and travel essentials on their phones. Google Wallet is officially available in the Philippines, offering Android and WearOS users a seamless, digital-first wallet experience.

Google Wallet acts as a digital container for your cards and passes, storing everything from credit and debit cards to loyalty cards, digital vouchers, event tickets, and even boarding passes. Payments are powered by Google Pay, ensuring transactions are secure, fast, and convenient wherever contactless payments are accepted.

Google Wallet uses tokenization, dynamic security codes, and device-level screen locks to protect information. If a phone is lost, users can lock or erase data using Find My Device, and manage settings anytime through the app or myactivity.google.com.

Partners launching with Google Wallet/Google Pay

VISA and Mastercard card holders of ChinaBank, East West bank, RCBC Bank, Zed; VISA card holders of GoTyme, Maya, UnionBank, and Wise; and Mastercard card holders of GCash and Zed will be able to add their cards to Google Wallet.

Travelers can add boarding passes from Philippines Airlines, AirAsia, Cathay Pacific, Jetstar, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and Thai Airways; flight bookings from Trip.com; event tickets booked through Ticket2me and Ticketnet; as well as IKEA loyalty cards and Mang Inasal vouchers.

For transit, Google Wallet can be used to Tap and Pay at MRT-3 in Manila and on modern jeepneys in Cebu and Mandaue City, as well as wherever VISA or Mastercard are accepted. It also supports bus tickets purchased through Easybook, with tickets purchased via the Beep App for buses and trains in Manila coming soon.

For online shopping, users can checkout with Google Pay on platforms like Shopee, with Sephora support coming soon, and at merchants partnered with payment service providers such as PesoPay, Payermax, 2c2p, Paymongo, and Maya.

How to use Google Wallet

Setting up Google Wallet is easy. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up contactless payments. If you need to add a card, just tap “Add a card,” accept the terms, verify, and you’re ready to go.

Storing boarding passes or tickets is just as simple. After purchasing a flight ticket, tap “Add to Google Wallet,” and your digital pass is ready whenever you need it.

For all your memberships and loyalty cards, Google Wallet keeps everything in one spot. Add them manually like you would a payment card. Now you can carry your IKEA Family card or Mang Inasal vouchers on your phone, so you never miss out on rewards or perks.
